The discount website CouponCodes4u.com asked 2,103 men how they feel about their female partner’s footwear collection, and 59 percent said they thought she had bad taste in shoes.

Here are the top ten shoes that men hate women to wear:

1. Wedge shoes (71%)

2. Uggs (67%)

3. Crocs (63%)

4. Platforms (58%)

5. Flip flops (55%)

6. Moccasins (49%)

7. Mary Janes (42%)

8. Ballet shoes (37%)

9. Kitten heels (34%)

10. Sneakers (25%)

Interestingly, some of these shoes are really bad for women’s feet. Wedges are bad news for feet because they are high heels and  are dangerous because the foot is secured in place only by strings at the heel.

Without the security of a moulded heel, the foot is highly likely to slip off the wedge heel, which could result in dire consequences. If this happens, you would be lucky to escape without a broken ankle.

Ballet shoes provide no arch support for the foot. These shoes are okay to wear occasionally, but not for long hours at a time or days at a time.

Most flip flops are made of plastic or rubber. Leather ones are a safer and healthier option, though all shoes of this type have their health risks – mainly

Flip-flops are a problem because the thong that goes between the big toe and the second toe can rub and chafe, causing blisters as well as aggravating athlete’s foot.

The plastic soles are not breathable and so will make for sweaty, smelly feet, despite the shoe being so open. People choose to wear flip flops to air their feet, yet by opting for a plastic or rubber sole they are probably causing as much, if not more, of a build-up of sweat on the soles of their feet than if they were wearing a fully enclosed leather shoe.

Rubber or plastic soles are also slippery once wet with sweat or water, and it is extremely easy to turn an ankle in flip flops if the foot slides off the soles.

Platforms, women’s high heels, come with a host of problems for feet. Heels raise the foot, place more stress on the arch and cram the toes into a small “box.”  Doctors do not recommend that anyone wear heels, but if you must, wear heels 2 inches high or less. heels should not be worn for long periods of time either.

High heels cause immediate problems by putting more pressure on the ball of the foot and distorting the natural gait of the foot, which can damage the knees, hips and spine.

Remember, any type of foot or ankle pain is never normal. A foot and ankle doctor can examine your feet and give you the best course of action.
